What SIM-card is.

SIM-card is a subscriber personal identification module containing all the necessary information for using the velcom services chosen. SIM-card allows carrying out all the functions concerning network user identification.

What PIN code is?

SIM-card provides an unauthorized use of your number with the help of the 4-digital personal identification code PIN1 (Personal Identification Number). It is impossible to use your number without a SIM-card and knowledge of PIN1. PIN2 allows activation of some additional functions available in the handset's menu.

After three attempts to enter the wrong PIN, the SIM-card will be partially blocked. In order to unblock PIN code, one should enter an 8-digital PUK code in the handset's menu or by entering a special combination of buttons (see handset manual).

What PUK-code is?

It is used as a rule for unblocking the PIN code and is provided together with the SIM-card. After ten attempts to enter the wrong PUK code, the SIM-card will be blocked with the only possibility of the urgent call. In this case it is necessary to contact velcom customer service department for purchasing a new SIM-card.

Code unblocking:

Start of the handset functioning.

  1. Read the handset's manual and charge the battery.
  2. Insert a SIM-card into the handset.
  3. Turn on the handset.
  4. Enter PIN1.
  5. Confirm the choice.
  6. After the network is found, you will see velcom or 257 01 on the handset display.

The handset is ready for work.

What connection is?

Telephone connection is an interaction between means of communications with lines, channels and switching devices of the telephone network use which enables the subscribers to send/receive voice and/or non-voice information.

The beginning of the connection can be considered the moment of abrasion of the technical communications device* including the cases of call forwarding, CLIR, fax, voice mail, modem and other device that automatically generates the response.

Outgoing calls:

For connection with the numbers of urban and rural telephone stations it is necessary to dial a city/settlement code in an nternational or intercity format followed by a telephone number:

  • 8 0 - city code - subscriber number
    or
  • 0 - city code - subscriber number
    or
  • 375 - city code - subscriber number
    or
  • 810375 - city code - subscriber number
    or
  • 00375 - city code - subscriber number

For instance, the numbers of Minsk city telephone network to be dialed as follows:

To call to Minsk city telephone stations one can use "#" in front:

Thus, calls can be made at the Minsk city facilities while subscriber velcom in the territory of Minsk and the Minsk region.

To make a call from mobile to mobile phone within velcom network, please, dial only a subscriber's number:

  • 900 00 00; 700 00 00; 600 00 00; 300 00 00; 1xx xx xx.

All outgoing calls to the subscribers of other operators acting on the territory of Belarus to be initiated with international or intercity code preceding.

The sequence of dialing in the international format:

  • "+" – international code of Belarus (375) – code of mobile network (29 – MTS and BelCel, 25 – BeST) – subscriber's number (e.g. +375 44 700 00 00, +375 29 500 00 00, +375 29 2xx xx xx, +375 29 400 00 00, +375 25 900 00 00)
    or

In order to make a call from velcom mobile phone to any city of the world (out of Belarusian borders), you should dial:

  • + – country code – city code (or mobile network code) – subscriber’s number

In order to call from abroad to a fixed line number in the Republic of Belarus, a velcom subscriber should dial:

  • 375 – city code – subscriber’s number

In order to call from abroad to a mobile number of velcom in the Republic of Belarus, a velcom subscriber should dial:

  • +375 29 900 00 00; +375 29 600 00 00; +375 29 300 00 00; +375 29 100 00 00; +375 44 700 00 00.

To call a velcom subscriber within RB one should dial:

  • 8 029 900 00 00, 8 029 600 00 00, 8 029 300 00 00, 8 029 100 00 00, 8 044 700 00 00 (fixed line)
    or
  • 900 00 00, 700 00 00, 600 00 00, 300 00 00, 100 00 00 (from the handset).

To call to a velcom subscriber from other networks in Belarus one should dial:

Purchase of a new SIM-card

In case you lost or blocked your SIM-card, you should contact customer service for purchasing a new one.

In case the owner of the handset is a physical person, it is necessary to come personally with the document certifying the personality, pay in accordance with the existing tariff plan for activation in case of lost or blocking of a SIM-card.

In case the owner of the handset is a legal entity, it has to pay in accordance with the invoice presented by the company for activation of a SIM-card in case of lost or blocking. After the money is transferred to the client's account, the representative of the Customer service provides a representative of the legal entity with a new SIM-card, provided he has a letter of attorney for getting a SIM-card, passport together with the application from the enterprise typed on the company's letterhead.

Security measures

We recommend you not to use the handset during the flights since its use can cause noise of radio equipment of the plane.

Handset use can cause noise in hearing aids, such internal medical devices as cardio stimulator and some electronic devices.

If you notice the noise, remove the handset from the device exposed to.

If you are close to the place where construction works and radio transmission is forbidden, turn off your handset.

Security measures while driving:

  • Never hold your handset in the hand while driving a car (use car kit).
  • While driving avoid dialing a number.
  • Use speed dialing for the most frequently dialed numbers.
  • Do not distract from the road and speak via car kit.
  • Before calling or answering a call estimate the situation on the road.
  • We highly recommend purchasing a car kit for your car if you speak much while driving.
