Mobile Internet is a service for high-speed transmission and receiving of data by means of a mobile phone or modem. It provides an access to wap and web Internet resources from a mobile phone or by means of a modem. The service operation in velcom network is based on GPRS and EDGE technologies.
Who can make use of the service
Mobile Internet service is rendered to all velcom subscribers.
To make use of the service in velcom network you need:
- to have a mobile phone or modem which supports GPRS / EDGE technology;
- to activate Mobile Internet service;
- to adjust your phone / modem to work with the service.
How to activate the service
Mobile Internet service is automatically activated to new subscribers of the company upon contract conclusion, to current subscribers – upon changing of their tariff plan.
For new velcom subscribers (except for subscribers of BUSINESS.PRO, BUSINESS.PRO.WEB, WEB 250, WEB 500, Kedy and Polukedy tariff plans), Mobile Internet service is automatically activated according to WEB BASIC tariff plan.
For new subscribers of BUSINESS.PRO, Kedy and Polukedy tariff plans, Mobile Internet service is automatically activated according to WEB 25 tariff plan (without the subscription fee, with GPRS traffic). Upon change of the specified tariff plans, the service will be rendered according to WEB 25 tariff plan (with the subscription fee).
For new subscribers of BUSINESS.PRO.WEB tariff plan, Mobile Internet service is automatically activated according to WEB 250 tariff plan (without the subscription fee and additional quantity of Mb). Upon change of BUSINESS.PRO.WEB tariff plan, the service will be rendered according to WEB 250 tariff plan (with the subscription fee and additional quantity of Mb included into the subscription fee). Detailed information on the included traffic is in the Procedure of rendering of telecommunication services by FE “VELCOM” within BUSINESS.PRO.WEB tariff plan.
New PRIVET subscribers have Mobile Internet service included into a set of services and it is rendered according to the prices in force.
The service can also be activated on your own by one of the following methods:
- by means of a USSD request (the service name in USSD is displayed in the form of the abbreviation MobiNet):
- *135*1 # and a call key – for velcom subscribers (except for PRIVET subscribers);
- *126*1*1 # and a call key – for PRIVET subscribers;
- by means of Customer Care Internet Service (CCIS) on the site as follows: http://internet.velcom.by
Settings of a mobile phone to work with the service are sent by Wizard service automatically in the following cases:
- to new subscribers who have Mobile Internet service activated;
- to current subscribers upon Mobile Internet service activation;
- upon change of the tariff plan of Mobile Internet service;
- upon mobile phone change (if a new mobile phone supports GPRS / EDGE technology).

Adjustment of a modem to work with the service is made in a manual mode.
Receiving of the settings can be ordered by the following methods.
Velcom subscribers (except for PRIVET subscribers):
- by means of the USSD request as follows:
- *135*0 # and a call key
(the service name in USSD is displayed in the form of the abbreviation MobiNet);
- by means of Customer Care Internet Service (CCIS) on the site as follows: http://internet.velcom.by (choose Settings item on the menu and order the settings following the system helps);
- by means of an SMS message with a keyword to 512 (payment is not charged):
- web1 – Mobile Internet service settings for WEB BASIC tariff plan;
- web2 – Mobile Internet service settings for WEB 25 tariff plan;
- web3 – Mobile Internet service settings for WEB 250 tariff plan;
- vmi – Mobile Internet service settings for WEB 500 tariff plan.
- wap – Mobile Internet service settings for GPRS WAP velcom tariff plan;
- web – Mobile Internet service settings for GPRS WEB velcom tariff plan;
- plus – Mobile Internet service settings for GPRS WEB PLUS velcom tariff plan.
PRIVET subscribers:
- USSD request as follows: 126*0 # and a call key;
- by means of the SMS request privet to 512 (payment is not charged);
- Customer Care Internet Service (CCIS).
The received settings are to be saved on the phone, and then the device should be switched off and switched on again.
Users of Mobile Internet can adjust connection on their own, being guided by typical settings for phones, which support Mobile Internet service.
Attention! In case one uses PAP authentication, the fields User name and Password in connection settings are not necessary to be filled in.
Change of the tariff plan of the service
Velcom subscribers (except for PRIVET subscribers) can change the tariff plan of Mobile Internet service on their own, having made a request:
- by means of the USSD request as follows: *135*1 # and a call key (the service name in USSD is displayed in the form of the abbreviation MobiNet);
- by means of Customer Care Internet Service (CCIS) on the site as follows: http://internet.velcom.by;
As well as when applying to company’s sales and service centres.
Change of the tariff plan of Mobile Internet service is made automatically within 24 hours of the first day of the month, which follows the month of the request formation, provided the balance is positive, and the status of the subscriber is active. Before actual change of the tariff plan of the service, the subscription fee and payment for the traffic are charged according to the initial tariff plan. It is possible to change WEB BASIC tariff plan assigned initially on any day of the month.
Attention! After change of the tariff plan of Mobile Internet service, settings to work with the service should be changed on a mobile phone and computer according to the new tariff plan of the service!
Access to wap and web resources.
For operation of the subscriber device with Internet resources, Mobile Internet service should be activated and adjusted.
To use wap resources, one will need:
- a mobile phone with a wap browser version not lower than 1.1;
To use web resources, one will need:
- a mobile phone with support of GPRS / EDGE technology or a modem;
- a computer (it is possible to use usual personal computers, laptops with various operational systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux), pocket computers (PDA – Personal Digital Assistant);

An access to web resources is also possible when using:
- a mobile phone with an embedded WAP browser of a version not lower than 2.0, with support of XHTML, HTML language;
- a mobile phone a java application set additionally, for example, OPERA MINI (it is set on your own).
Work with IMS (instant messages service) from a mobile phone is possible when using special programmes, such as: QiP, fring, Mail.Ru Agent, Google Talk (they are set on your own).
